Walther  training  a new Mount named quirk John Walther was assigned on October 1, 1975 to the Rochester Police Department. He would patrol the East side of the City formerly called the Atlantic section. His was a member of the police scuba team for 3 years and the SWAT team for two years. He joined the Mounted Unit in March 1979. He has been at the Mounted Unit the longest. He assists with the selection and training of the police mounts. Hobbies: John-Boy owns a pair of Belgian Draft horses which he uses for farming purposes. He is a farrier. He coaches youth baseball and football and a father of three active teenagers. Downhill skier who has 'eaten' the mountain more then once.
